Ukrainian businesses currently face significant hurdles due to outdated document regulations and wartime disruptions that threaten the physical preservation of critical records. Managing international transactions also remains complicated without standardized digital alignment with foreign partners.
These obstacles create severe risks, including the potential loss of vital paper documents during crises, slower operational speeds, and increased administrative costs. Furthermore, the lack of mutual electronic signature recognition with the European Union limits the agility and resilience of cross-border trade.
To address these vulnerabilities, enterprises are adopting phased electronic document management systems and secure electronic archives. This digital transition is further supported by an experimental project aiming for mutual recognition of electronic signatures between Ukraine and the EU by the end of 2024, which streamlines international contract signing.
From an environmental perspective, replacing physical paper workflows with digital archives significantly reduces paper waste and resource consumption. This transition supports ecological efficiency by eliminating the need for physical document transport and storage.
